在昨天开幕的北京国际通信展上，国内最大的通信上市公司中兴通讯推出了目前全球体积最小、重量最轻的3G折叠手机。这款支持WCDMA网络的手机重量仅仅104克，与已经商用的全球40多款3G终端来比较，走在了业界的前面。

据专家介绍，自2001年10月3G手机率先在日本商用以来，一直面临着体积、重量、耗电、功能以及互联互通等一系列问题。经过近三年来的改进与完善，耗电、功能以及互联互通等问题逐步解决，但体积和重量过大仍是制约3G手机普及的因素之一。中兴通讯推出的第一款3G手机解决了整机小型化的设计技术门槛，显示国内通信设备厂商在屏幕显示技术、基带模块、射频模块等方面的雄厚实力。据悉，中兴通讯将在2005年向海外市场批量提供3G终端。(北京青年报)
